It’s seed sowing time

Every day more seeds meet the soil and find their homes in the greenhouse. Some seedlings are even ready to find home in the high tunnels! Your investment in our farms during the slow winter months helps us to plan for the year, to buy these seeds, and to pay our people to care for them-thank you! If you haven’t joined yet, you can reserve your share of the harvest here!

VEGGIE CSA FAQs

There’s so much to a CSA! So much food! So many add-ons! We thought we’d take a moment to highlight some Frequently Asked Questions…

HOW BIG IS A FULL PLATE SHARE?

One share will supply two adults or a family household with the majority of the produce for the week, though you may need to supplement staples. We do our best to strike a balance, but every kitchen is unique!
Boxes are 5/9 bushel and free choice shares should be the size of 1 paper bag super full (but you can custom pack in your own bags).
Expect 8-12 unique veggies each week. Unlimited u-pick crops are also available.

CAN I SPLIT A SHARE?

Yes, if you get a Boxed Share. Just alternate weeks or split up your box each week. Please do not split shares at Free Choice Pickups to ensure everyone gets a fair share.

WHAT FARMS ARE IN FULL PLATE?

Stick and Stone and Remembrance Farm co-own Full Plate and produce ~90% of the food for the share. We partner with ~10 other farms to fill out the share & spread the CSA love to other farmers. No matter where you pick up, your share supports and includes produce from all the farms. Learn more about the farms

WHAT PACKAGING DO YOU USE?

FREE CHOICE - BYO containers. Pack in your own bags, tupperware, etc!
BOXED SHARES are packed in wax coated boxes that should be returned weekly for re-use. Any blue fiber pint & quart containers can also be returned. Please do not return plastic salad bags

BOXES - Thursday afternoons. There are 10+ pickup options around town.

FREE CHOICE - W 3-7 Stick & Stone. Th 3-7 Press Bay. Fri 4-6 Salt Point. Sat 10-1 Youth Farm

WHAT ARE MY VACATION OPTIONS?

You have options to send a friend, donate your share, or give us notice to hold your share and double up later. Free Choice members can also switch to another Free Choice pickup within a given week. Learn more about vacation options.

Your share can’t be replaced once it has been harvested (ie if you forget and miss a week)

CAN I USE THE UPICK GARDENS? HOW & WHEN?

All Full Plate veggie share members have unlimited, free access to the u-pick gardens included in your share. Pick during daylight hours in the designated u-pick fields. Learn more about the U-Pick here

WHAT IS THE VALUE OF A SHARE?

Joining a CSA is cheaper than buying retail produce!

The average CSA member gets $900-$1000 in fresh, local produce, throughout the season. Plus more in u-pick benefits! (As compared to the base cost of ~$600)

Weekly cost is about $25, with a $35-$40 average value.

HOW CAN I MAKE A CSA MORE AFFORDABLE?

We offer monthly installment plans, and partner with HFFA to offer subsidized shares at 50% cost to income eligible households.

WHAT IS THE COST?

FREE CHOICE PICKUP $595 or $135 deposit (<$26/wk)
GROUP SITE BOX $650 or $190 deposit
HOME DELIVERY BOX $750 or $290 deposit
HEALTHY FOOD FOR ALL SUBSIDIZED SHARE $297 or $61 deposit
Choose any pickup option. available to SNAP/WIC eligible households, via HFFA.
YEAR-LONG COMMUNITY SUPPORTER SHARE $1300
Support your farmers & neighbors up front if you’re able! One payment includes your Summer CSA, Winter CSA, $100 donation to HFFA, and a bonus spring box.
